ODLO and DePoly Collaborate on Closed-Loop Base Layer Using Chemical Recycling
With the help of DePoly technology, ODLO's 100% mono-material polyester sports underwear can be bro- ken down into its basic building blocks - the monomers PET and MEG. These monomers can then be converted back into pure PET, spun into a new yarn and knitted into a new fabric. With a research partner, the effects of the new closed base layer will be evaluated in compari- son to the current product (LCA). Furthermore, spinning and knitting are to be tested and implemented in Swit- zerland with a technology partner for re-polymerisation.
