Manufacturing climate positive materials to store CO2 from the atmosphere in our buildings
Manufacturing climate positive buildings materials that can be reused as a filler in other applications such as being deposited in the earth to remediate agricultural land. Biochar is the first example of such a material which can be used in this way due to it's very large surface area, which creates habitats for micro-organisms and fungi that help plants in their uptake of nutrients. This circularity isn't constrained to the same industry i.e. it is not being directly used in the construction industry, but it is increasing the fertility of the soil which could be used to grow more trees and therefore generate larger amounts of biochar. Our launch product, external wall render, stores 1kg of CO2 for each kg of render.
